Please bring clean clothing, shoes, jewellery and other accessories in good condition. Also, bring a snack or sweets to share. We will provide tea/coffee. Have fun shopping for free! *Apr.16 – Theft Call at The Hamlet Store


April 16, 2017

On April 16th, 2017 at approximately 3:50PM, OPP was called to The Hamlet Variety Store in Consecon, Ontario in response to a theft call. Officers attended and investigated, determining that a young man had stolen approximately $60 worth of liquor from the store. Charged with Theft Under $5000, Fail to Comply with a Recognizance, and Fail to comply with Probation, is 21 year old of Quinte West. The man is due to appear in the Provincial Court of Justice, Picton Ontario on May 3rd, 2017.

*Apr.11 – Swing bridge maintenance means route changes or delays

If your daily commute takes you over one of our area swing bridges, you’ll have to make some route changes, or expect delays for the next few weeks.

Parks Canada is doing routine maintenance on bridges across the Trent Severn Waterway, including washing, greasing and visual inspections, with the work ongoing through to mid-May.

A number of swing bridges in the region are being affected, including those in Brighton, Carrying Place, Glen Ross, Hastings, Campbellford and more. Read more at quintenews.com
