3:56p SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT ISSUED by Environment Canada

(Locations listed below description)

A line of thunderstorms will race northeastward across eastern ontario late this afternoon and early this evening.

Some of the thunderstorms may produce wind gusts to 80 km/h, pea to marble sized hail and frequent lightning.

Heavy downpours suddenly reducing visibility to less than 1 km are also possible. Motorists should exercise caution. Strong gusty winds and heavy downpours will result in difficult driving conditions.

The thunderstorms are expected to weaken as they move northeast out of the region early this evening.
