REC Committee’s Adopt A Pole For Christmas…

The Ameliasburgh Ward 4 Recreation Committee is sponsoring “Adopt A Pole For Christmas in Consecon”. Pick a pole in the village from the junction of Consecon Main & Mill St down to the junction of Mill St & Store St, and decorate the it in time for the Santa Claus Parade. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best decorated poles, $50.00 for 1st place, and $25.00 for both 2nd & 3rd places. Decorations must be removed by January 31st.

It’s not too late to get involved, you may participate by entering a float, drive your classic car, come on horseback, or walk on your own or with a pet. Awards will be presented for most original float, the best band, the best horse and for the best walker.

To participate, you can register early by contacting Heather at telephone: 613-394-5093, or email or just show up by 12:30 at the junction of Consecon Main St and Mill St in the heart of the village of Consecon.

  • The Consecon United Church will be holding a Bake & Craft Sale from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm
  • The Consecon Branch Library will be holding an Arts & Crafts sale from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm.
  • Post Parade, from 2:00 till 5:00 pm the Cascades Pub & Grill will hold a fundraiser with all proceeds going to Wellington’s Storehouse Foodbank featuring a Bowl of Chili and a Bun (suggested donation $5.00) and Hot Dogs (suggested donation $1.00) and Free Hot Chocolate. For your enjoyment, Peter Rea of The Reasons will entertain in support of this worthy cause.

Come out and attend and/or participate in a County tradition.

C.A.R.A. Float Decorating Today…

Sherri Bergman and Janet Battagglio will be holding a meeting to get ideas, input and willing volunteers wishing to be part of the CARA Float team.

WI and Guide Dogs…

On Friday November 1st at 2:00 pm, in the Consecon United Church Hall, the Women’s Institute of Consecon invite everyone to join them in this instructional program “Training and Purposes of Service (Guide) Dogs” so we can better understand the way these dogs can serve people. Everyone welcome, refreshments will be served.




Holiday Pole Decorating 2013…

“Adopt a Pole For Christmas” contest response has been a tad underwhelming, come on folks get on board.

The Ameliasburgh Ward 4 Recreation Committee is sponsoring a beautify Consecon for the Christmas Season competition. Choose any of the hydro poles on Mill St between the junction of Main & Mill and the junction of Store & Mill, come up with a unique decorating concept and demonstrate your artistic flair to the community. Pick a pole today and have it decorated in time for the Santa Claus Parade, Sunday, November 17th. Cash prizes 1st. place $50.00, 2nd. & 3rd places $25.00 each. Pick a pole today and reserve it with me, if you can’t get it done in time for the parade, no problem, as long as it’s decorated for the Christmas Season you’ll still be eligible to take part.  All decorations must be removed by January 31st. 2014.​




3rd annual Cascades “A Time To Share” Food Drive

Cascades Pub & Grill is excited to announce, that they teaming up once again with The Storehouse Foodbank in Wellington, to help out families in our Community this Christmas. The 3rd Annual “A Time To Share” will kick-oo Sunday November 17th. following the Consecon Santa Claus Parade, and they will be accepting non-perishable food items, toys, and funds towards Christmas Hampers. 1st Anniversary Celebration Janet B Gallery & Studios

1st Anniversary congratulations arrived from Daryl Kramp, MP, Prince Edward County, Local Council Members, Nick Nowitski, Councillor Ward 4 – Ameliasburgh and Dianne O’Brien Councillor Ward 4 – Ameliasburgh came to  congratulate us.  As did the C.A.R.A. Executive members and local guest from the county.  Janet presented Studio G Group Director, Gabi Von Gans, who introduced Studio G Group Artists, Guest had an opportunity to meet some of the Studio G Group artists who came from across the province, and to learn about international exhibits and major art projects underway for 2014 and the local Janet B Gallery artists.   Sherri Bergman and Janet demonstrated the healing arts, and  Red Tail Vineyard provided the wine for toasting.
