June 3-12, 2016
2016 Consecon Banner Painting Festival June 3-12
“Life in Consecon” and “History of Consecon” are the themes to be depicted on hand painted banners to be hung throughout the village of Consecon.
An art initiative by Janet B Gallery & Studios, sponsored by C.A.R.A. Inc. through the ‘Consecon Beautification Project” this community event is made possible with the assistance of volunteer members of the community, great artists, and the Ameliasburgh Ward 4 Rec Committee.
Each spring, Janet B Gallery & Studios has organized the Consecon Banner Painting Festival, which has become an important community project. Professional and aspiring artists, from every corner of Consecon and beyond, including students, parents, teachers, seniors, organizations, and businesses have come together to create beautiful one-of-a-kind works of art to enliven and add vibrancy to our village streets. Each year 15-30 new banners are created, and this year we have the capability to double that by painting both sides.
The Consecon Banner Painting Festival was started as a way to bring art to everyone in Consecon, beautify the village, foster community spirit and showcase Consecon as a place of beauty, art, activity, life, and community.
Who can paint?
Everyone!
All you have to do is bring your ideas and we’ll help you create a banner!
